Literature | Be Challenged Not Unabled

You probably must have heard 'physically challenged', 'physically disabled/handicapped' referring to a person whom we find not ordinary. The person may have lost his limb walking with a stick or is on a wheel chair. Or maybe he's mentally not stable. We (people) call them physically/mentally disabled or handicaped. Isnt this reference a bit demeaning and loweing their vital spark and their spirit? I feel it does. Physically challenged would be the words I'd have used. They aren't unable to walk they are challenged to walk.

'Be challenged not unabled' also implies to our daily perspective of life. We may come across many such day to day Challenges some of which are making us impotent. Suppose we came across a task which we found to be difficult after trying. We immediately say "I am unable to do this". This is where we go wrong and lower our confident. We should take it as a challenge and brace ourselves for the next attempt at it.

So be challenged instead of being Unabled.
